The gentleman sure is eager to do it, but I think he out-priced himself. I had set a post out on Facebook to solicit advice and recommendations, and he seemed to know what he was talking about. But I also received a message from a stranger telling me to watch out for him! ha! She told me to look up open lawsuits against him or with him in them, and I did...quite a bit.
Anyway, I don't care necessarily about that if you know what you are doing roof-wise! But then he found me on Facebook, tried to befriend me (nope), and sent numerous messages to me. His bid came in at $1295, and I asked how many days it would take (yes, I was baiting). He said a good roofer could have it done in couple of hours.
So I asked him what hourly rate he was charging then if he would be so quick and materials being almost nil. He said he doesn't charge hourly rates, only project rates.
Yeah, um, no thanks. So basically I am being charged anywhere from $200/hour to $500/hour from the first roofer! It's truly bewildering to me. Must be nice if he can get that. But not from me.
But he did show me his plans on a picture I had given him, and I think it seems rather plausible.
The game plan. |
