I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I am just kind of enjoying my leisurely pace as of late. Dad asks what I've accomplished, and frankly, the answer is I'm not doing much of anything! Lots and lots of cleaning. Lots of dishes, still unpacking all of my plates and plastic ware. Lots of laundry. Trying to catch up on the ridiculous amounts of laundry I make and the ridiculous amount I am trying to do from the move (bedsheets, towels, etc.). Every single item in this house had dust on it, and I'm trying to get everything clean and put away.
It's a chore.
Well, today I decided to tackle a little bit more "smaller-sized" projects. At the end of the day, EVERYTHING is going to have to be done, so I'm kind of in a "Just do something" phase. Move something. Put something away. Throw something away. Grab 10 items, and put them in their place. Moving is a chore.
Well, later in the day I decided to finally get my dishwasher done once and for all. I've left the bottom cover off to make sure the dishwasher definitely doesn't leak, but after probably five cycles, I haven't found or felt a drop! Oh, and I've ALSO avoided doing this because I knew it was going to be a process! It's not laziness as much of a lack of desire. The bottom kickplate was filthy! And I mean disgusting, just like the rest of the kitchen (and house).

This kickplate was disgusting! |
I found more dog yet again. Hair everywhere. So I scraped and scrubbed. Thankfully, it came off, but it was a process!

The dishwasher is now 100% complete! |
But the pieces came out looking magnificent, and so I installed them. That project is 100% wrapped up! What a lengthy timeframe that was! But it's another step in the right direction. (As a sidenote, this dishwasher does AMAZING. I don't know if I just had a poor one before or what, but these dishes come out spotless! No streaks or anything. I love it!).
While I still had daylight (just barely), I decided to knock out another little project. I had gone to mail a letter last week, but I noticed my mailbox had no flag! I wasn't even sure if they sold flags by themselves, but they did, so I picked one up for around $4. A new mailbox was $10...but I didn't need one! And in between jobs right now, I am REALLY having to be frugal. So with a quick new hole drilled, I had myself a new flag. It's a bit long and covers the first number, and it doesn't really have "tension" on it (a strong wind may blow it down), but it's on, and the mailbox looks better. Hey, if it gets the job done, why not. Another project completed.

A quick fix...and a big flag! |
And then I tackled another small project. I cut out a piece of linoleum to lay in the bottom of the cabinet that Dad and I rebuilt. I have some scrap pieces laying around, and this one was a bit stiff from being stored so long, but those curls will come out. So now that project is 100% done.

And after! |
I'm moving forward! Little by little.
I've enjoyed the lack of back-breaking days as of late, but I still have a TON to do. It's mostly small annoying stuff, and it's all going to take some time. The biggest is cleaning up, organizing, sorting, and unpacking. I have days (weeks?) of that remaining. Ew.
