My current living room. I received an offer! Woo hoo! |
I received a word from my Realtor this afternoon that I had received an offer on my house!!! I was asking $119,900, and the interested party was offering $114,900 with a home warranty and kitchen appliances.
My Realtor and I agreed to counter at $118,000 with me buying the home warranty (around $500) and leaving the appliances (I only really lose a fridge, as I have an oven at the new place).
And I figured I would have to wait a day or three.
And then I received a text this evening, "We have a deal! $118k w warranty. Close dec 20." Wow!
WOO HOO!!!
Just like that!
This home selling adventure has been just that. Before this offer, I had been 0 for 17. It's a bit demoralizing! Deep down, I knew that my house would sell. I'm proud of it. It's cute, in great shape, and located in a very popular school district and very quiet and stable neighborhood. But, wow, the more people came in to look at it, the more people said, "Nope, not for me!"
I first listed it July 1 on my own, and I finally went to a Realtor on October 1. So it had been a long 4 1/2 months! I have been more than ready to get it sold! I'm not thrilled about the $7,000 or so in commissions, but I am very happy with the accepted price. VERY happy.
Needless to say, I'm ecstatic. I know some things will pop up in the home inspection, but I'm just hoping I can get as close to that $118,000 as possible! I am ready to free up some cash to start aggressively funding the new home! Experience is showing me I need it!
But what a GREAT day!!! Here's to hoping I have no hiccoughs!
